


Howard F. Murphy was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in October of 1998. Mr. Murphy’s primary practice areas include personal injury, civil litigation, real estate law and estate planning. Mr. Murphy received his B.A. degree, suma cum laude, in 1994 and he received his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, in 1998 both from the University of Pittsburgh. As an undergraduate, he was appointed to the Dean’s List on numerous occasions in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement. While in law school, Howard was in the top ten percent of his class and, as a result, was invited to become a member of Law Review and the Order of the Coif. Howard was also awarded the Dean’s Scholarship and CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Contracts. As an attorney Howard has enjoyed the privilege of helping many injured people obtain fair compensation for their claims. Howard has been able to settle most claims without the need to litigate in court but, when necessary, he has also successfully litigated many claims as well. Howard has extensive experience in representing individuals and businesses engaged in various civil and commercial disputes before the Pennsylvania and Federal trial and appellate courts. He has also represented clients at arbitration hearings, mediation sessions, zoning and municipal hearings and district justice hearings. Howard’s real estate experience includes representing both, buyers and sellers in residential and commercial closings, negotiating contract and lease provisions and drafting real estate and business related documents including commercial leases, purchase agreements, partnership agreements and standard commercial loan documents. He has also helped many of his clients with their estate planning needs. Howard is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. In addition, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce from 1999 – 2004 and was a member of the Monroeville Rotary from 2002 - 2004. He is currently a member of the West Jefferson Hills Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Business Alliance. Howard was born in New York City in 1965. He has been married since 1988 and currently lives in Jefferson Borough with his wife and three children. Howard enjoys coaching and playing roller hockey and studies Tang Soo Do Karate at the South Hills Karate Academy. |
